CES is delighted to announce that Fall Forum 2011, A Conversation among Friends, will take place in Providence, Rhode Island on November 10-12, 2011 at the Met School at 325 Public Street.

Convened by the Coalition of Essential Schools as our annual "conversation among friends," Fall Forum provides the essential tools, knowledge, contacts, and vision to create and sustain personalized, equitable, academically challenging schools that prepare all students for successful lives. Fall Forum is the embodiment of more than 25 years of principled and proved educational practices that support all young people in all communities to learn to use their minds well. Drawing from a network of hundreds of schools and affiliated organizations, we provide support, insight, and real answers to what works to create great schools for the long haul.

We're delighted to announce that Deborah Meier, Alfie Kohn, Dennis Littky, Ron Wolk, Kathleen Cushman and Barbara Cervone from What Kids Can Do, Gary Stager, and convenors of The Forum for Education and Democracy are confirmed as speakers. Pre-Conference School Visits and More

On Thursday, November 10, Fall Forum 2011, A Conversation among Friends, offers three optional pre-conference activiites:

  • Day-long school visits to Essential schools in the southern New England region
  • Experiential Arts Integration at Boston Arts Academy
  • Providence CitySearch, a day-long pre-conference session that offers exploration of Providence neighborhoods in order to compare and contrast what our diverse communities can teach us about themselves and inform the role of their schools.

Fall Forum Youth Opportunities

During Fall Forum on Friday, November 11 and Saturday, November 12, CES is coordinating a series of opportunities for learning and interaction open to high school students. We invite young people to register for Fall Forum participation at a reduced rate and to bring their creativity, questions, and energy! Program Guide Advertisements and Gallery Space
